We at Gitch felt that we needed to build our performance enhancing line from the feet up. We purchased various socks from top companies on the market in various sports but found few that live up to the promises on the box. We knew that we needed a product that will benefit players on the ice, during dry land training and while recovering. As a result we turned to compression socks. While talking to some of the industry’s leading therapists and doctors we realized that the only way we will be effective is to have gradual 20 – 30 mmHg compression, because anything below that has as much effect as freshly washed cotton socks.
Our socks feature gradual compression starting at the ankle. This allows increased blood flow to the muscles aiding in removing lactic acid and bringing more oxygen, which improves endurance of the muscle in the exercise stage and in muscle rejuvenation during the recovery stage.
Another feature that is unique to our product is the ankle support band. It stabilizes the foot, reduces the risk of sprains, and improves performance as it allows the foot to stay more balanced. Our specific knitted heal and foot bed area provides impact protection and cushioning of the foot. It also allows a better fit in the shoe or skate. The custom knit provides moisture wicking capabilities keeping the foot dry and cool while exercising. The wide toe box allows toes to spread out for added balance. Most of the socks are not designed for this feature as they keep the toes close together, reducing athletes balance and ability to generate maximum output as the contact area stays narrower than with Gitch socks.
